City of Battle Ground News

Posted on: September 6, 2017

On August 3, 2017 the City of Battle Ground, unincorporated Clark County, and other neighboring jurisdictions called for an immediate recreational burn ban, prohibiting all recreational fires.  Out of extreme caution, we want to re-post the notification:

Due to extremely high temperatures and dry, windy conditions, Battle Ground Fire Marshal Chris Drone has issued a total burning ban on recreational fires within the city of Battle Ground, effective immediately. The ban is also in effect in unincorporated Clark County and Yacolt.

All outdoor burning, including recreational fires, are prohibited within the city limits beginning immediately. The need for the ban is based on weather conditions and community fire safety needs. It will remain in effect until weather and fire danger conditions improve.

Recreational fires, campfires and fires in outdoor fireplaces or chimney-type devices are not allowed during this recreational burning ban. Cooking outdoors in an approved propane or charcoal barbecue is allowed during this burning ban.

The recreational burning ban will remain in effect until further notice. Updated information will be posted to the city’s website and Facebook page.
