Clark County - A summer playground program, new skate park equipment and new trails will come to small cities in Clark County through the Parks Foundation, which recently announced its new Community Grant Award program.
Battle Ground will get $4,000 for a travelling summer playground program in its city parks, Ridgefield will get $2,000 for new equipment in its beleaguered central-city skate park and Washougal will get $1,200 for an April 18 trail building day.
A second round of Community Grant Award recipients will be announced at the foundation's annual membership lunch, 11:30 a.m. June 9, at the Water Resources Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way. Pete Mayer, new director of Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation, will speak.
