The Planning Division can be further divided into two focus areas, Long Range Planning and Development Services. Long Range Planning is responsible for developing and implementing advanced planning programs, which represents a vision for the community that accommodates state and federal requirements and responds to changing local needs. This division also directs local plan and land use ordinance development, review and refinement; and provides, when available, in-house expertise for studies, projects and programs.
Development Services administers a program of plan and ordinance implementation through existing and proposed land use controls and incentives, including the processing of all types of land use applications to insure that they are consistent with the Battle Ground Municipal Code.
