FAQs
Q:
How do I get a traffic ticket deferred?
A:
You can only have a deferred traffic ticket once every (7) years.  This also depends on your driving record, and the charge on the citation. You will ask if you qualify for a defferal, during your mitigated hearing with the judge.

Q:
How do I request a hearing on my traffic ticket?
A:
You need to mark on the back of the green citation that you recieved from the officer.  You will mark  either the box mitigated or contested, and put your current mailing address at the bottom, and mail that green citation into the Court.  OR, you may call and request either type of hearing.

Q:
Can I just pay my ticket?
A:
Yes, you would pay the amount the officer put on your ticket.

Q:
Can I make payments?
A:
Yes, but it must be requested from the clerk. There will be a $25 time pay fee added to the total amount due. Payments will begin 30 days after the request and will be set at $50 a month.

Q:
What happens if I miss my payment?
A:
If you become (2) months past due, we start the collection process, and we will suspend your drivers license until your ticket is paid in full.

Q:
Can I do community service in lieu of payments?
A:
Yes, but you must request this from the clerk, and you can only do community service for the fine amount.  If you have been sentenced to pay any restitution you must pay that amount as per order.

Q:
I have been cited with a criminal charge, do I have to appear for arraignment?
A:
Yes, but we can set over most arraignments out only 1 week, if you need to reschedule.  If you have been charged with Driving Under the Influence, OR Assault 4, Domestic Violence, we cannot set over your court date.  You must appear per your citation.
