Parks
Key Objective
Provide services, construction, and maintenance of the City parks. This is a special revenue fund. Revenues to this fund are comprised mostly of transfers from the General Fund.

Parks land acquisition, a high priority of the City, is funded through Grants, the Parks Impact fee, and a portion of the real estate excise tax.

Park Maintenance - Provide support for the maintenance of City parks.
Department Goals
  • Sustain, operate and maintain the City's parks and facilities.
Accomplishments 2009
  • Daily trash pick-up and emptying trash cans.
  • Weekly mowing, trimming and landscape maintenance of all parks
  • Tree trimming, tree removal and brush removal as needed
  • Instituted annual inspections of playground equipment.
  • Assisted with planning and coordinating traffic control for the Chamber of Commerce first Annual Fun Run half marathon.
  • Completed drainage improvements at Kiwanis Park.
