Upcoming Water Shut-Off Days
A utility account is considered delinquent after the due date of the bill has passed; all utility accounts are due on the 20th of the month, and are overdue on the 21st. A
late charge of $10.00 or 10%
—whichever is greater—is assessed on all delinquent accounts. Payments, when received, are applied by date in the following sequence: penalties, fees, taxes, water, sewer and storm drainage.
Ultimately, all utility bills are the responsibility of the property owner. As such, if a tenant is past-due on their utility account, a past-due notice will be sent to the property owner/manager as well as the tenant.
Termination of Service for Non-Payment
Delinquent accounts are subject to shut-off and related service fees. Customers with delinquent accounts are provided a
Past Due Notice
stating the outstanding balance, the final due date, and the date of service shut-off if the payment is not received. Utilize and reference the
Disconnect Service Calendar
for dates in which water service is disconnected for non-payment.
Upon the passing of the final due date—as indicated on the past-due notice as well as the Disconnect Services Calendar—accounts are assessed an
additional $27.00 administration fee
. The fee is charged regardless of the status of the customer's water. Payment must be received in the amount of the past due
the additional $27.00 in order to avoid having services shut-off or have them restored if they are terminated.
Water meters are the property of the City of Battle Ground. It is a violation to tamper with the meters for turning water on or off and fines are assessed for meter tampering per Municipal Code 13.112
Delinquent accounts are subject to property liens and associated fees set forth by Clark County.
