The donation consisted of items donated by individual employees and items purchased for the food drive by the City's Public Employees Association (PEA).

Individual City employees from City offices, including City Hall, the Police Station, the Public Works Operations Center and the Parks & Recreation at the Community Center, donated 345 items ranging from soup to peanut butter.
In addition, the 30-member PEA voted to use $500 of their dues to purchase food to donate to the Christmas Basket Food Program.
PEA President Chris Doerschuk said the vote was unanimous "Our members are aware that the need is great this year and we wanted to help out." Prudent shopping by PEA members stretched the $500 and donated 550 food items.
City Manager Dennis Osborn reflected the sentiments of staff, "This is a wonderful community and we are grateful for the opportunity to personally contribute in a time when folks are in such need. I am very proud of our City staff."

The Battle Ground City Council recently concluded a Community Outreach Program that took place from August to November of this year. The Council met with 16 community organizations and hosted 4 community outreach meetings for the general public. The purpose of the meetings was to hear, from organizations and individual citizens, their vision for the future of Battle Ground. A list of the most frequently raised issues was generated and is available to view by
