[ARCHIVED] City Employees Honored for Outstanding Service

Employee Awards

City Manager John Williams and Chief of Police Bob Richardson recognized the outstanding service of City employees at a recent City Council meeting.

Maintenance Worker Brian Grier was named the 2013 Employee of the Year by City Manager John Williams. The award recognizes Mr. Grier’s outstanding service and commitment to excellence in the performance of his duties. He was among five employees nominated for the award by their peers.

Police Chief Bob Richardson presented the 2013 Police Department Awards. Sergeant Simon Geller was awarded with a Life Saving Medal for his exceptional efforts resulting in the saving of human life. A Meritorious Service Medal was awarded to Officer Chris Crouch for his outstanding service in the department’s K-9 Unit. Officer Josh Phelps and Detective Aaron Kanooth were recognized with Commendation Medals for their exceptional service in the department’s detective unit.

The 2013 Officer of the Year Award was presented to Sergeant Kim Armstrong who was selected to receive the award by her fellow Police Department employees. Sergeant Armstrong was commended for her exemplary service and commitment to the community reflecting the mission and values of the Battle Ground Police Department.
