[ARCHIVED] East Main St to close during repair of railroad crossing

A short section of East Main St in Battle Ground, just east of Grace Ave, will be closed beginning Tuesday, May 26th for the repair of the East Main Railroad Crossing. The road will reopen no later than Friday, May 29th.

During the closure, motorists will be detoured onto NE Grace Ave and Fairgrounds Ave for east/west travel. Access to the community center and all businesses located in the area will remain open. A map of the detour is available by selecting the link below.

Clark County, who owns the rail line, will be reconstructing the sub-grade, replacing the rails and ties, and installing concrete panels. The work will stabilize the tracks and roadway and provide for a much smoother ride for vehicles crossing the tracks.

For more information regarding the project or road closure, contact City of Battle Ground Public Works Director Scott Sawyer at 360-342-5075 or by email at scott.sawyer@cityofbg.org.
