The retail sale of fireworks within the city of Battle Ground is regulated by WA State statute and city code. The city of Battle Ground requires that organizations who sell fireworks be a service club, religious or charitable organization - recognized by WA State as a non-profit - that conducts business within the city and benefits the citizens of Battle Ground.
New city regulations will limit the number of fireworks stand permits issued in 2019 to five. In order to determine which five non-profit organizations may apply for a fireworks stand permit, a lottery will be conducted.
Eligible non-profits interested in obtaining a permit to sell fireworks in 2019 must enter the lottery by submitting a Fireworks Stand Lottery Application to the city no later than 5:00 pm on January 31, 2019. The lottery will take place on Friday, March 15.
Applications and further information are available on the Fireworks Sales page, by contacting the Community Development at 360-342-5047, or by emailing the Fire Marshal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
