[ARCHIVED] Battle Ground Councilmember Dingman takes Oath of Office

Councilmember Dingman Swearing In 6.15.23

Daniel Dingman appointed to fill vacated Battle Ground City Council Position #3, took his official oath of office during the Battle Ground City Council meeting yesterday, June 15.

Councilmember Dingman will serve the remainder of the position’s current 4-year term of office until the results of the November election are certified by Clark County, then the elected council member will take over the seat.

The City Council solicited applications to fill the temporary position, vacated by former Councilmember Shauna Walters.  The City received applications from four (4) residents interested in the temporary term, which were evaluated at a special meeting held on June 12, during a closed-door executive session.  Three (3) applicants were selected to move forward to interview during the June 15 City Council meeting, after which the City Council conferred before making the appointment.

The Battle Ground City Council is a seven-member board responsible for the legislative function of the city such as establishing policy, passing local ordinances, approving budget appropriations and developing an overall vision.
