Fireworks Stand Lottery Application

  1. Please note that pursuant to the state’s Public Records Act (RCW 42.56), documents are public records and may be subject to public disclosure. 

  2. Lottery Process
    The City permits the placement of a maximum of five fireworks stands for each year's Fourth of July and New Year's sales season.

    The license to sell fireworks are issued to non-profit organizations, service clubs, or charitable organizations currently designated and recognized by the State of Washington as non-profit organizations.

    A lottery is conducted to determine the five non-profits that may apply for a Fireworks Stand Permit.

    Organizations interested in obtaining a Fireworks Stand Permit must first enter the lottery by submitting this application. Organizations awarded with lottery numbers 1 -5 may then apply for a Fireworks Stand Permit.
  3. Lottery applications for the current year may be submitted beginning January 1 and must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 31.
  4. The Lottery
    Per municipal code, the lottery will take place on or before March 15 of each year. Winners will be notified by phone or e-mail.
