2023 Fall Skyhawks Sports Classes at Kiwanis Park

Skyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Programs are designed to give each child a positive introduction into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle.

Fall Soccer Classes

Saturday Sept 16 - Oct 21

Your young athlete will gain the technical skills and sport knowledge required for their next step into soccer.  Areas of focus are dribbling, passing, shooting, and ball control. By the end of the camp your child will have learned new life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship, made new friends, and improved their soccer skills.

Saturday Sept 16 - Oct 21

This fun, skill-intensive, program is designed for beginning to intermediate players.  Using their progressive curriculum, Skyhawks will focus on the whole player, teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Players will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding, and defense through skill-based instruction and small-sided scrimmages.

Jump Start Gymnastics Fall Classes 

(No class 11/20/23)

High quality instruction including bars, balance beam, and trampoline. Your child will learn balance, strength, coordination, and flexibility all while building confidence and having fun! If you want to try it out for the first time, your first class is free. 

Classes are held at the Battle Ground Community Center (912 East Main Street).

Yoga Classes

The Parks & Recreation Department is happy to welcome Kate's Yoga to the Battle Ground Community Center (912 E. Main Street).  Kate's Yoga will be held on Tuesday evening for ages 12+.

Packages Available:

Gentle Flowing Yoga

Tuesdays (6:30 - 7:30pm)

Build better balance, strength and flexibility with this gradual yoga class, focusing on safe alignment.  

This class is great for beginners and those with yoga experience, and involves modified yoga postures that are gentle on the wrists.  Link your breath and mindful movements in this class.  Please bring your own mats and a small blanket or foam garden kneeler if you need cushioning while seating or kneeling, some yoga straps and blocks will be provided. 

 

The Battle Ground Parks & Recreation department held our 1st Annual CORN-ament in March of 2023 where there was good food and drinks, great door prizes and lots of fun and laugher for everyone who played or just stopped by to watch and support their favorite team.  We are looking forward to 2024.
