The Finance Department accounts for and protects City assets, is responsible for the City’s central accounting, budget and financial planning, treasury, debt management, and utility billing.
The city’s budget represents City Council’s goals and policies, serves as a guide to city and departmental operations, and identifies where your tax dollars and other revenues are being spent.
The City produces financial statements that conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and are audited in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards by the Office of the Washington State Auditor (SAO). City code requires that any dog over six months old living within the city be licensed. Licenses are issued on a calendar year basis from January 1 – December 31.

The City provides Water, Sewer and Stormwater Drainage utilities; Finance Department staff provides utilities billing and customer service.
