The City of Battle Ground’s Engineering Division is responsible for the design, construction, and contracts with Clark Public Utilities for repair and maintenance of street lights, signals and signage within the City.
Street sweeping makes a community look clean and tidy. It also keeps dirt, debris, and other contaminants from washing into storm drains.
Speed limits within the City of Battle Ground are determined based on the requirements of federal and state law. Washington law states that speed limits shall be 25 MPH on City streets. Traffic calming improves neighborhood livability and the pedestrian environment by reducing vehicle speeds, vehicle noise, visual impacts, and through traffic volumes.
Truck routes have been established in the City through the City’s Municipal Code. Truck traffic that originates outside the City is required to travel on an established truck route and is only to deviate at the intersection that is nearest to the destination point.
