Parks & Community Engagement Advisory Board members are volunteers who support city parks and recreation programs by fostering public interest in events and activities, participating in programs, and soliciting participation from community organizations and the general public.
The board also serves in an advisory capacity, making recommendations to the city council regarding the development and operations of public parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities.
Details about the Board's membership and duties are outlined in Municipal Code 2.60.
Board members are volunteers appointed by the Mayor for a term of three years; the youth representative serves a two-year term, from September of the first year through June of the second year.
